Google Founders Interviewed (Audio File)

Via Google Weblog (Aaron Swartz, October 30, 2003) comes a link to a Fresh Air interview with the founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

• “We spent the early days in a garage.”
• “We’re sort of serving the world its information.”
• Google downloads “1,000s of pages per second” for its index.
• The Internet “is a very efficient method of distribution.”
• Because of copyright-holders complaining on basis of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act “there are maybe a hundred web pages that are blocked.”
• For around 10 days in China, Google was “largely blocked.”
