Traditionally, Google Gadgets (former Google Modules), are added to the Google Personalized Homepage or Google Desktop. As of today, Google also allows them to be put on any web page. You can browse Google’s webpage gadgets directory and then grab a code snippet* to include on your own page.
I gotta say, this step opens up a whole lot of new possibilities. The nice thing about the module API is that Google handles the traffic/ caching for you, and also exposes your widget to a larger audience. At the moment though, I’m seeing some display problems with including a gadget (see the clock above, which has a very weird border).
*As usual, the snippet is invalid HTML as ampersands aren’t escaped.
