Nice one!
What it takes to get your favorite software in the pack? They have firefox, I'd love to get thunderbird too in the pack |

I like the fact they have a Mac only software page, but when are they going to get one for Linux apps too? |
When they'll have more than two or three Linux apps.
- Google Earth
- Picasa / Wine
- Google Toolbar for Firefox and other Firefox extensions |
So by the end of the year they will have a linux page?? :) |
I hope so. They commited at the Linux Desktop Architect Summit to port more apps to Linux and to release open source software.
|
They's have to design it smartly , so that the app can detect the packaging system, and install the right packages (or do a generic thing installing the software w/o integration) |
Google seems to be tidying up all their products and adding more gradients and curves to them recently. I'm kinda hoping Gmail and Gcal will get the same treatement. |
I hope that google will take off spydoctor from the google pack.... It makes the computer go much, much slower...
|
You don't have to choose it ya know.. :) |
I get a time-out when I hit "download". Also, I can't click on a program title to toggle the checkbox (bad usability). And if we're nitpicking: the download button uses minimal ghosting, and the dash in the left-hand copy is too short :) But this page is a big improvement over the old page in terms of immediately clarifying what you'll get and how you can remove it:

[Note: above is a mockup, because I had to insert the new Download button (Archive.org didn't load the old Download button).]
The new page for reference...

I've never installed Google Pack, but regarding the spyware-like appearance of Real Player, I remember someone saying in Google they have negotiated with Real slightly less intrusive approach for the Google Pack version.
Can anyone deny/confirm that? |
