The similar pages feature of Google search has never given me good results. Why is it still around?

I've found that it does work, but only on major websites.

For example: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_enGB224GB224&q=related%3Anytimes.com&btnG=Search

I actually, never use this feature though and I'd be interested if how many actually do.

I think it's useless, but you may never know when you'll need it, so it's good the feature is there.

I use it perhaps once a month or so, and if often returns good results...

Anyone know how to make google custom results work on a mobile phone / device, if you add the results page to your own site / page. it just doesnt show anything when i try it on 8 different mobile handsets.

Even I never gave a serious thought on using "similar pages" feature as of yet
let me try it out and see how good it is.
