Here's an article I wrote on how to quickly and easily create complex Google Maps Mapplets based on Yahoo Pipes KML feeds.
http://blog.radioactiveyak.com/2007/07/fuel-price-mapplet-developing-mapplets.html
It's a step-by-step walk through of how I turned a mashup I wrote with the Google Mashup Editor into a Mapplet (and why), there's also some general mapplet development tips.
Any Mashup / Mapplet developers here on Blogoscoped? Are Mapplets the way of the future? |
Reto,

Congrats again with being mentioned by Google Mashup Blog!
(In this forum there wasn't a lot of feedback on it...)

Thanks Art-One!
Actually, this is a brand new post. I turned the mashup from the earlier post into a Maps Mapplet (still using Pipes technology).
Seems like Mapplets are a better fit for this sort of 'overlay' type mashup, but there's not a lot of buzz about mapplets yet. I wonder why? Too complicated for average Maps users to add and use? |
