Google and Apple have quite a close relationship at the moment, and thus such a deal would make sense for both companies.

Apple has announced that it will be performing maintenance tomorrow on its .Mac service as the company is set to host a "Mac-only event" (see http://www.macrumors.com/2007/08/06/mac-update-coming-at-august-7th-media-event/).

Gmail Apps is currently set up for Mac.com, see https://www.google.com/a/mac.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fa%2Fmac.com%2F&ltmpl=ca_googlemail_tlsosm_t&ltmplcache=2 for a login page. I have tried this address in the past but to no avail, but it now seems to present a login page.

So far, the only integration is with iMovie with YouTube upload, and iWeb with GMaps and AdSense "widgets".

So iLife '08 Web Galleries will be added to .Mac as well as a boost in storage space from the old 1 gig of storage space to now 10 gigs.
