Am I the only one who feels like every major internet player is constantly releasing newer features (email to sms, bigger box size) while the development of Gmail has gone completely stagnant? There was a time when Gmail developments would be a weekly event. Its not like they don't have capabilities for it – Gcal already has sms abilities; how hard would it be for them to port that to Gmail? Its not like Google lacks resources...

Have you thougt of that they don't want to release this feature?
(From their personal reasons)

Most of Google is based on initiative. I'm quite sure they've thougt of that.

I was only using cellphone messaging as an example; I wanted to highlight the fact that while Google has ideas and has the resources, they have been neglecting one of their flagship projects – Gmail.

They aren't neglecting Gmail. Just because you don't know what they're working on doesn't mean they're lazy.

I feel like I am in trouble for insulting the great Google on this board here. As far as I see it, there has been a huge decline in released updates on Gmail.

you're right- they've slowed it to almost nothing.

Eytan,
Sometimes, backstage job is much more appreciated than known one.
