Ho-Hum, well no, not exactly.
Read the dozens of comments on these two blogs; apparently techies are NOT blase' about these continual predictions.

But who knows, perhaps one day, a new software and business model may in fact do to Google what Google did to Yahoo.

there is a new Thread on MC's blog

The Roman Empire has fallen... I think Google will fall some time too.

I'm not so sure, its harder for a company of Google's size to fall (excluding corruption/bad accounting etc).

Some reasons:
a) Google can buy competitors who out-do them (they bought YouTube),

b) Microsoft, Yahoo! and Ask are all going after them, and despite all the money invested, Google's market share still continues to increase,

c) People move only when the current product they are using becomes old and decreppid (for example, Hotmail/Yahoo! Mail at the time Gmail launched), Google is making modifications to search all the time to stay fresh and ahead of the game,

d) People keep predicting ProductX-Killers, and yet we hardly ever see one.
