You in said in your presentation it's possible to open the 'live chat' with the visitor of your pages using the visitor ville, I'd like to see the demonstration. |
Yes Piotr, but you need Java (and the user needs Java too, and JavaScript also). I will see what I can do, and maybe I can make a video of it! Basically, this is what happens:
- You see a visitor and you want to help - You click on "Chat with visitor" (or similar) - Now nothing happens, *until* the visitor clicks somewhere else on your site (e.g. if he just closed his browser window, you won't be able to chat with him) - If he clicked somewhere else he will get a pop-up; if he has Java, he can then chat with you.
When I think about this feature I keep two things in mind: - Nielsen once wrote* visitors are intimidated by live-help, and leave the site instantly in certain circumstances. - Not everyone has Java these days.
*At least that's what I remember. I just searched for it but couldn't find the article at useit.com ... |
Thank you very much, I enjoyed your presentation as well as my coworkers did. Anyway, I think most people wouldn't like to know that they are being watched, and their every step is under surveillance ;) |
