I will add :

   – Change your resolution to 800x600 or 640x480

   – Change number of color to 256

   – Remove Flash and Multimedia Plugins

   – Do not use Google!

My laptop display is 800*600 :D
The third tip would remove a lot of adverts (yey!)
The 4th would give me nightmares!

LOL

This so brought me back even further – January 1995 – Netscape 0.9 beta was the browser of choice for anyone who considered themselves a web marketing professional! hahaha

I actually still use a version of Lynx in a DOSBox from time to time even to this day so I can get a quick take on how the search bots are seeing a site.

Shouldn't the titles of steps 1 and 2 be switched?

I went a step further and made my website (that had no content to begin with) look retro.

No style sheets, self closing elements, quotation marks, etc. Plus I turned back time and gave a fake timestamp telling it was last updated in 1994.

Use Web Developer Extension to disable Stylesheets. You can also disable JavaScript. That would make it much more realistic.

Style Sheets – In Firefox you can just go View -> Page Style -> No Style.
Most browsers can disable Javascript :D

I do use my cell phone all the time.
and if I its default browser I see many pages just like that. lol
Also I use Opera Mini v3 and v4 beta2.
V4 can see many pages as the real and FULL opera version, but v3 cant.
thanks for the google-mobile converter. its going to be handy.
