Remember kids, vague charges of "taking offensive" justify the tyranny of the minority.

I guess we can no longer celebrate anyone who ever had any character flaws, which leaves out, well, every person who ever lived.

Besides me, of course. And I could do with a personal celebration once in a while :)

They really just need to have a setting (via cookie) that when someone gripes about a google logo they can say, "if you click the "hide special logos" in the lower right corner, you'll never have to see it again" and then just be done with it.

Google should not have removed the special logo because complaints of a misguided minority

Better ban all Walt Disney movies while we're at it – he was antisemitic too.
Also maybe we should ban all mention of Ford cars – Henry Ford was known for his hatred of Jews.
And lest we forget Hitler's all-time fav – the Volkswagen – ban those and Mercedes too.
And for good measure we should never listen or play Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries. Let's exorcise all mention of him.

And last but not least, we should burn all the books by Dostoevsky.
Sure, he was one of the greatest writers in the history of mankind, but he really really hated Jews and didn't care to hide it.

-------

I grew up on Dahl (translated into Hebrew, mind you) and used to watch Roald Dahl Mysteries on Israeli National TV when my parents would let me stay up late.
I really can't see how James and the Giant Peach can offend ANYONE – Jewish or not.

But really I blame Google. Not the idiots who complained.
I guess google self-censorship is not restricted to google.cn

I suppose honoring Memorial Day or Sept 11th would be too much to ask.

Did Google do anything special with their logo for Veteran's Day?
