McDonalds?

"mcdonalds" seems too obvious... maybe "french arch"

Ronald?

You can test your theories at images.google.com... :)

Yes, go to http://images.google.com/ and enter the term you guess... then compare the results with my screenshot. And no, it's not "McDonalds", "french arch", or "ronald." I think you need some special knowledge, or analyze the images well, to get on the right track...

Do we get any prizes?

Searching for "mcdonalds ketchup" and "mcdonalds jesus" has yielded two of the images. Can't seem to figure out the correlation.

Its tough to analyze any of the others (besides the french one). What "special knowledge" would be helpful?

Doh: This is just for fun and challenge.

David: Hint – you mentioned the "special knowledge" in your post.

And this is a straight up simple text search? No crazy ANDs, ORs, or quotes around different things in the query string?

Philipp Lenssen [PersonRank 10]

No crazy ANDs, ORs, or quotes – in fact, it's only a single word.

mcdo?

http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=mcdo but maybe with the geolocation I get different results?

here's what I get :

Yes, Miel, you are right! The answer is "McDo". Too bad the geo-location screwed it up a little.

For those who don't understand, in France they call McDonald's "McDo", pronounced as "Mac Dough". One of the result images contained French, which was supposed to be the hint. The "special knowledge" you needed was therefore knowledge of the French language.

Congrats Miel! :)

I would have almost gone for "french fries" :)

Not only in France! Here in Quebec (french-speaking province of Canada) we call McDonald McDo as well.

Eugene [PersonRank 0]

We call McDonald's just McDo too in the Philippines.

Tony Ruscoe [PersonRank 10]

Here in the north of England, my friends and I call it MaccyD's :-)

Addendum: Though we don't pronounce it as "mac dough" like the French speakers do but as "mac do?" where "?" is a glottal stop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glottal_stop).

Enter [Mcdo] in regular Google search and the first result is the online delivery service of McDonald's in the Philippines. Also, one of the images in the first Google Image SERP contains the local slogan of McDo, "Love ko 'to."

Sorry that I wasn't able to include this in my earlier comment.
