Me too, in Hungary. No matter what I try, can't reach the Google Docs page... |

OK, it's here now. Strange. |

Meanwhile I reached it but couldn't go on working as the data base connection did not work and no saving was possible. |

I just got this error:
"The server encountered an error. Please try again later."

But now it's back... |

though it's very unlikely that Google would actually lose your data. |

Still it highlights the fact that you can't trust others with keeping your important documents. Here it was just a draft for a blog post of mine, but nonetheless... Btw. this is the post: http://seo2.0.onreact.com/20-ways-to-get-legit-paid-links-without-getting-penalized-by-google |
Above 9 comments were made in the forum before this was blogged,

There were several reports of Google losing people's gmail data in the past... |

Well, I have been using gDocs all day at school, no problems here... |

I had the same error messages a couple of days before. It turned out that the errors came only up when I was connected over my FON Wlan. When I connected my computer direct to the ADSL router the problem disappeared. |

Seems to be a number of problems:
I am getting "Oops an error occured. Please try again in a few seconds." in Reader.
And "Unable to load user data. Please try again in a little while." in Notebook. |

I saw 404 too.
Documents at Google Apps were working in read only mode at the same time: "We have problems. You can view the document, but cannot make changes too it." Something like that
Looks like App customers are getting special treatment. Or maybe just coincidence :-)
The whole breakage lasted for five minutes or so. |

I had troubles with iGoogle as well today. Clicking on any tab only refreshed the main tab content, it was impossible to activate the other tabs. Seems to be OK now. |

Or bad that they haven't gotten Google Gears integrated yet :) |

Not even Google will be perfect; nor should they be expected to be. We, you, everyone, need(s) to be able to have better control of our data: share it, port it, and experience it. We should not be locked into one mode of interaction, nor a single location for the storage for our data. And, as the next phase of the post-web 2.0 begins to evolve, more Modular Innovations will occur, that, I believe, can really empower us to control our own data and our own online experiences. "We should not be locked into one mode of interaction, nor a single location for the storage for our data. "
But if Google wants companies to switch to Google Apps then they will have to provide a near perfect solution that will ultimately be stored in one location (granted Google has backups). |

Well, Google Docs works for me. But it takes several minutes to load.
:/
Maybe some regular maintenance like Orkut , AdSense and AdWords gets every month?
(Just guessing..) |
