Hearing about all the awesome stuff Google is making was awesome....when we actually get to see them???
Wiki SocialStream Health Shared Stuff Social APIs (Nov 5?) Gmail v2? GDrive? (If this is still going to ever happen since Google decided to start charging for storage) GPhone? (I've already got my heart set on the OpenMoko)
When will we see what Google is working on from:
NevenVision (Why are they still promoting the Google Image Labeler game?) GrandCentral Dodgeball, Zinku, Jaiku
MeasureMap helped with the new Google Analytics but is yet to release a blog-specific analytics tool possibly integrated into blogger http://measuremap.com/
Will FeedBurner be fully integrated to blogger? Or at least be Google-ized?
Will YouTube be Googleized next month or sometime soon? (It's been almost one year since they were acquired which is the length of time they were supposed to continue running "independently")
Some services could use an upgrade! Googe Page Creator Google Image Search
Is Google actually working on their own Open Source License???
When will the new "Google Answers" expand out of Russia? When will Rebang expand out of China?
So this is the sum of all my impatience. Please forgive me Your thoughts? |

If they launched GDrive, SocialStream and the GPhone – just think of how much fun the "privacy advocates" would have slamming them – I can see the headline now: "Google plans to look at your hard drive". |

Come on In google! I've got LOADS of porn to share! |

But seriously, I agree withyou completely on ALL points, especially Page Creator. It was old when it was new. I NEED those social API's, It's going to rock! |

A "googleized" YouTube seems like it would be what Google Video was, and Google Video apparently wasn't good enough for Google (perhaps it didn't attract a great enough community). So that might be a sub-optimal idea... |

It's a slow, discreet and small process. Everything's going to change, but it needs time. A lot of time. |

I'm sick of time! I wish they just released everything at the one time and wiped out the competition |
Keith Chan | 16 years ago # |
Come on, Google! Get them ALL rolling out! |

Just don't complain when the products are all buggy. |

Philipp i think it was more just that YouTube was much more feture rich. Combine that feature-richness with Google-cleanliness and I think you'd get a great product.
Zim...i know :(as i said this is jsut the sum of my impatience
James, yeah that would be nice, but if they release *too* early then maybe the competition will be able to release their own version that's better developed before Google's really gets moving.
I'm sure we Google will continue slowly rolling out their products and keeping us on our toes and i know that Google is working hard behind all that fun they get to have at work ;) I just can't wait until we actually get to see this stuff!
Also, something that Google could do-- Forum hosting? Google Groups -esque but for forums, not discussion lists. |

Hmmm... That could be nice, how about Google Homework Journal, accessible by mobile phone and iPodtouch (since I just bought one). That would have been great when I was in school. |

uhm, yes. they definitely need more APIs! |

"Cozy clutter" might have impact on communities though. Like it's not the cleanest room teenagers like to hang out in. It's not always the cleanest pub people like to meet in. Etc. Not sure if that is transferrable to the web, but look at totally messed sites like MySpace. Not that everyone likes that clutter! |

I went through a phase of thinking Google was the most innovative company ever, but know I think the market is becoming slightly too saturated. They've also got "search company" written all over them, so it may take even longer for them to be recognised worldwide as more of a "communications company".
I think they need to rethink their "20% time" structure. There's no need for it anymore... at least for another year or so. They just need to make sure each product is completely polished and fully integrated. |

Oh yeah and Google also mentioned they would add a todo list type feature to Google Calendar...eventually. |
Martin Porcheron | 16 years ago # |
Search was promised in Google Reader for over a year before it was added so don't hold your breath. |
DPic | 16 years ago # |
Yeah i know :( |
DPic | 16 years ago # |
oh and another thing! Google promised way back when that gtalk and aim users would be able to talk to each other! That never happened! Gmail v2 maybe? |
Zim | 16 years ago # |
DPic: That's true!! I remember it from somewhere... And it never worked. Anyway, AIM is full of spammy IMs, I don't like so much the idea of both networks merging...
Haochi: >Just don't complain when the products are all buggy. If we can do this with Microsoft, it won't be hard with Google :P |
DPic | 16 years ago # |
No the networks weren't going to be merged, they would be bridged. Is google going to go back on a promise?? |

I heard that's it's more like 100% + 20% = 120% anyway :) |

Sweet! Cross Gmail 2.0 off the list! |
DPic | 16 years ago # |
and Social APIs too!!! (Open Social)
and maybe wiki soon as well?
Google, just as our impatience reaches a climax, you sweep us off our feet again!
Now they need to hurry up and support OpenID – i think it's a really smart. once they do it you'll be able to use your Google ID to login to all sorts of sites, not just Google services! |
