"The Australian competition regulator said on Tuesday it would not block the $US3.1 billion acquisition by Google of DoubleClick, a US web advertising supplier."
pretty interesting |
Every market that the two companies are incorporated in gets to have a poke at the deal. That's why the US and European regulators are both checking it out, as well as Australia.
Of course the Australian regulators investigation hasn't been as widely covered, this news article is from an Australian newspaper (Sydney to be precise). |
Can Google utilize this Australia decision as some "non-legally binding, but still noteworthy" precedent or something? |
I don't understand why this acquisition needs all these decisions that take a lot of time. |

I guess because each company has different competition laws. |
