The UK has just announced a new Food Waste minimisation campaign. It's got a nice interactive website. www.lovefoodhatewaste.com . Do any of your countries have similar campaigns/websites? |
Well, it's not all across Israel, but there are some food companies (including the one i'm working at) take the food that should have been thrown away, to charity.
But i'm pretty sure that if all companies would do that, it would be great. :) |
Plus, We also work with bread bakeries, and they all have policies that the bread that hasn't been used, and has been out of date, is been returned to them and they know how to make new (fresh) bread out of the old ones. (Don't ask me how they do that, but they do, and it's legal and all...) |
I know in Ireland they give out free compost bins...Not much else, it's more focused on energy http://www.powerofone.ie/ is the website for their Power Of One Campain, I love the logo, another good one is http://www.raygoldmodels.ie/ |
Leicestershire County Council (UK) are experimenting a scheme in two small parts of Leicestershire that collect Food Waste weekly and compost it (and then sell the compost). It sounds like a good idea to the solution of decomposing food in bins (because of fortnightly collections). |
