Reader TroublesIonut Alex. Chitu | Thursday, November 8, 2007 16 years ago • 6,127 views |
No Reader interface seems to work today (web, mobile, gadget). |
Chris Riley | 16 years ago # |
Same for me, seems everyone is affected looking at the Reader Google group. If you have Firebug or similar installed you can see that the API requests Reader makes are getting 500 server errors, causing an exception in the Javascript, stopping the page from loading. So looks like their servers are having issues. Seems to have been no response from Google about this either, and it has been down for me all morning. |

I get HTTP error 500 too :-/ |

I'm in the UK, not seeing any problems with Google from here... |
Tony Ruscoe | 16 years ago # |
Reader's been dead for me for the past 6 hours or so.
Reto, are you talking about *Reader* or *Google*? ;-) |
Reto Meier | 16 years ago # |
:) Whoops, sorry for the mistype – I mean no problem with *Reader*.
It *is* possible that my web traffic is being routed via New York (gotta love the corporate intranet). |

Works for me. Assuming that Chris is also in Europe .... |
David Hetfield | 16 years ago # |
Works for me too.. |
Tony Ruscoe | 16 years ago # |
<< Assuming that Chris is also in Europe .... >>

Removing Google Gears doen't change anything... How many feed will i have to read after Google Reader comes back... |
Chris Riley | 16 years ago # |
Still no joy for me and I'm in the UK. Guess it must just be a particular cluster of servers. |

works here in the US |
Martin Porcheron | 16 years ago # |
Doesn't work for me (UK), and hasn't done for about 10 hours. |
Grimmthething | 16 years ago # |
Been down since last night here in the Central U.S. |
hebbet | 16 years ago # |
Have the same problems here in Germany |
SQ89 | 16 years ago # |
You still can export your feed list using http://www.google.com/reader/subscriptions/export |
PierreS | 16 years ago # |
Works fine in France |
agasgasdf | 16 years ago # |
doesn't work in Switzerland.
So Iit doesn't matter where you at, but on which server your Google Account is stored or needs access too.
That's the same thing with gmail updates: you get them server by server and at least one for reader seems to be down, but not all of them |

About 5.46806649 yards. Don't you have meters in your country? :-P

Hey! you gots a logo AEF! cool! |
Martin Porcheron | 16 years ago # |
Hmm, aren't you British Tony? Surely its a metre. |
Tony Ruscoe | 16 years ago # |
Martin, it should be really. But I tend to dumb down my written language on the web so that more people can understand me... ;-) |

<<Hey! you gots a logo AEF! cool!>>
Thanks James! You could thank Phillip for it. He was nice enough to spend time to make me that logo. I love it.

<<Sorry about this, the problem should be fixed now. It was a conflict that only happened for Reader users who had tried the OpenSocial sandbox. >> Mihai Parparita, GReader team (http://groups.google.com/group/google-reader-troubleshoot/browse_thread/thread/324fcb746cc2ef83/9d7b43ba7a1e5b25#9d7b43ba7a1e5b25)
?! |
Martin Porcheron | 16 years ago # |
That makes no sense unless Google is going to create an OpenSocial app for Google Reader, in which case, why did it affect the live version of Reader.

Avrohom, aren't you from Israel? :| |

<<Avrohom, aren't you from Israel? :|>>
No. Actually I've never even been there. I'm dying to go there, but I don't have the time or money. (If I had the money, I'd find the time. So I guess it's just money.) I would've gone on a birthright program for free, but they changed the rules and I became ineligible. If you have any connections on how I could get there, I'd love to visit. The more time that goes on, the homing device inside of me beeps louder and louder.
It's funny you mentioned that today, because just this afternoon I was at the mechanic, and he was shocked that I couldn't speak a fluent Hebrew. He said to me "Well then how did you become Jewish?"
It hit home hard though. Funny when you see things from a different perspective. |
Sankar Anand | 16 years ago # |
yeah reader is dead |
David Hetfield | 16 years ago # |
I see. Now i understand why you didn't know what's a meter. (Cause in Israel we use meters, not yards :P)
So wait, where are you from then? |
Avrohom Eliezer Friedman (AEF) | 16 years ago # |
United States – grew up in Chicago – spent a few years in NY (unfortunately) – now I'm in South Florida |
TOMHTML | 16 years ago # |
Google Reader seems to be down again :-/ The same syntax errors as last time. |
Martin Porcheron | 16 years ago # |
Reader is working for me – to an extend, the interface took about a minute to load, claimed I had 42 new items and then wouldn't let me read any of them. |
TOMHTML | 16 years ago # |
ok it works now. You're right it is really longer to load. You had 42 items, I had 250+ so it was longer :) |
