StatCounter probably made the right choice. Either Google poked them and hinted that selling the links was a no-no, or the algos had changed and StatCounter no longer benefited, and instead was effected.

I mean, it just makes me wonder, had googles algos changed that outgoing links affect ones PR? I don't know, doubt it, but either way, StatCounter wont be selling as many links now will they? :D

You were probably penalized before if you were linking out to bad neighborhoods. At least that's what people suspected for a long time. And as of recently, people also suspected that Google downranked your PR if you were selling non-nofollowed text links...
