Google Sponsor Clicks Down 7.5 percent
Is this a sign of consumers getting tired of click fraud since the organic searches do not appear to be suffering |
There was a similar article in today's London Times. I think they said Google's sponsor click revenue was down 9%.
What's really interesting is that I, and most of the other AdSense users that I know, have found January and February 2008 to be by far our best months yet.
I guess one possible explanation is that the drop in Google's ad income is due to some websites moving away from AdSense. The overall ad income might drop, but the income per remaining website is higher.
Can this be due to all the domain tasters that Google stopped putting AdWords on? |
UPDATE:
Comscore offers other possibilities for Google's ad decline
Pehaps – more relevant ads – meaning consumers find what they need with fewer clicks?????
