<<Shares of media company CNET Networks Inc, currently battling dissident shareholders who want to expand its board, soared more than 7 percent on Friday, on speculation that Google Inc might be interested in acquiring a stake in it.>>
But Reuters emphasizes it's only a rumor. I'd find it weird if Google would acquire the same company that is supposed to do neutral reporting on them. Isn't it unlikely that Google would want to provoke creating such a conflict of interest, including all the criticism it may bring? |
