Microsoft are in real trouble here – one of the selling points of the XBox 360 was the HD DVD player. Overnight that has become obsolete.

Any thoughts on what they will do?

Most people who bought the Xbox 360 did not bother with the HD DVD add on. They'll either write it off and concentrate on HD content from Xbox Live, or produce a Blu-Ray addon.
