I'm not sure I understand "I had the Sidebar running, and there was so slow it made me worry" but certainly if you have the sidebar on it eats resources.

Fixed that sentence to express my original intent :)

Installed it yesterday and spent today fixing the damage it did – pity, the beta was excellent and the desktop search was a great app, pity that they couldn't just do one thing very well.

I am slowly going off google.
