There's a new notification in Google Docs when you open an attachment doc/spreadsheet already transfered from Gmail, which proposes you to either duplicate the doc or to open the first copy.
The notification is well designed (quite surprised from Google) and shows an effort to better integrate Google Docs with Gmail.
Here's the snapshot: http://base.googlehosted.com/base_media?q=hand9209377909492111746&size=1
The so expected Google suite is coming! |
Another example of Google Docs incoherence. If you click on a doc attachment twice, it will open the already-existent document directly. |
Is that dialog new: http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/3256/notifigoogledocsgx1.png Jérôme: How did you find it? |
hebbet: <<open an attachment doc/spreadsheet already transfered from Gmail>>
I only see this for spreadsheets, not for documents. |
Ionut Mine shows exactly the "coherence" of Gdocs, unless your Gmail doesn't have this feature activated or that I don't understand your comment (you said "incoherence"). |
<<I only see this for spreadsheets, not for documents.>> I had only a mail with a document. So I had to send me myself a Spreadsheet.
BTW: the integration of Spreadsheets only works with .xls files, not with OpenOffice.org :( |
Oups, I hadn't read the comment about the difference between docs and spreadsheet.
You're right, I haven't the notification for docs, only for spreadsheets (wrong extrapolation, sorry). For sure, we can call that an incoherence!

http://spreadsheets.google.com/images/alreadyopenedfake.jpg shows in the logo Google Docs & Spreedsheets, but since Sep 2007 only Google Docs is shown:http://www.google.com/images/spreadsheets/logos/en/docs_spreadsheets_sm.gif
Is it really new? |
hebbet http://blogoscoped.com/forum/124591.html#id124602 I think I posted about it before, I got told it wasn't new then :-) |
