Spakkle, Google gone artsy.

Spakkle (www.spakkle.com) allows you to customize your Google searches using a simple toolbar. You can change all of the colors, add different backgrounds, and add various borders as well. It's a fairly creative site, that tries to allow the users to be creative as well. Kind of an artsy Google. You just click 'SAVE' when you have it how you want, and they have a few examples of some layouts too in the Examples section.

There are a lot of custom Google searches out there that have set layouts and even background pictures. None that I know of are this flexible in terms of what you can do. It's a new site that's worth checking out.

This site design screams Web 1.0 to me.

Shame about the name too:

Spakkle.com is a very creative site. A lot of software developers lack an artistic sense, but the creator of spakkle certainly doesn't lack any.
