The gadget in Gmail allows you to sign into AIM but Google Talk the application still doesn't offer AIM integration.

so in otherwords, if i have GT running, I can't IM with someone who uses AIM.

Nope. You can only sign on to the AIM network in Gmail with an AOL screenname.

How's that for interoperability ?

when will aim adopt Jabber? They just opened up their protocol...they were experimenting with jabber earlier...why don't they just adopt it already!?
