fully agreed. Is there a way we can convince the whole world to ignore the Olympics this year? Perhaps convince multiple nations' teams to not go? |
Roger Browne ![[PersonRank 10] [PersonRank 10]](image/postrank/10.gif) | 15 years ago # |
The last time the western nations boycotted the Olympics "en masse" was to protest at the Soviet Union's military intervention in Afghanistan, and look how that turned out! |

Before China annexed Tibet, Bhuddist monks were the bad guys for many reasons, including slavery. Last time I checked, slavery wasn't something China allows. Now, two wrongs don't make a right, but please, research the issues and the history before getting involved in something more complex than a bunch of loudmouth Hollywood actors portray it. That's why God gave us Google. |

And that's exactly the issue of the post Rich – that researching the topic freely is not an option for Chinese users. |

The behavior of Chinese Communism Party is just like this old story: A thief jumped into a house to steal a jingle bell. Trying not to make noise to alarm the owner who was sleeping nearby, the thief put something into his own ears to block the noise, he thought the noise would not be there and the owner would not be alarmed.
The personals of Chinese Communism Party grow up in an environment that made them very smart in survival as monkey, but much less intelligent as human being. They are just like the thief stealing the jingle bell, and the emperor without cloth.
Please read on at Different ways of bowing to CCP http://webandlife.blogspot.com/2008/03/different-ways-of-bowing-to-ccp.html

"Tibet WAS,IS,and ALWAYS WILL BE a part of China"
this is the most popular youtube video today, globally, by the number of views http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=x9QNKB34cJo interesting at least |

Thing is on the surface, and the truth is not so.
It is all too easy. Many Chinese love Tibet and consider Tibet part of China, these Chinese include those born in the mainland (People Republic of China), Hong Kong and Taiwan (Republic of China). I haven't done any investigation further and deeper. But I guess: 1. Many Chinese living overseas clicked on the clip. 2. The guys employed by CCP could click on the clip even though they are located in the mainland China as they work as part of the info great wall, also do propaganda for CCP to influent western media.
Check the IPs of those views if you can.
My guesses about what CCP will do against the Internet were largely right, as I started making prediction about CCP 13 years ago. |

By the way, before jumping to protest, know more about the causes of problems in Tibet. If you want to think more based on more knowledges and understanding, read "Unlocking Tibet" from Wang Lixiong who met Dalai Lama a few times.
About him at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wang_Lixiong

"I saw three people assaulting a man – I was 50 metres away, but I think he was Chinese. They kicked him and then one man had a knife and used it. He was lying on the floor and the man put the knife in his back, like he wanted to see he was dead. ”

From 1959 to at least until 1970, the Tibetan government in exile received $1.7 million (or $11.6 million in 2006 dollar) a year from CIA. The money is used to pay the terrorist activities against China. Dalai Lama himself was on CIA's payroll until 1974, reportedly receiving $180,000 a year ($897,000 in 2006 dollar). The funds were paid to him personally.

Dalai lama enjoyed many inhumane privileges before PLA entered tibet, including slavery. He went into exile after he was deprived of these privileges by the new Republic. |

(Yanhu, instead of a more off-topic general discussion as to whether the Dalai Lama or more Tibet independence is good/ bad, please try to stay on-topic, e.g. list your arguments in regards to why you think the censorship that has been pointed out in the post is justified.) |

Just a small update, YouTube is now working again in China. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gseeker.com%2F50226711%2Fyou_tubeyoutube_142519.php&langpair=zh%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8 |

I didn't face any problems with YouTube blocking because I'm using the strongvpn.com VPN service. It provides VPN tunnels which help to reach fast speed during connection to web sites. As a plus for Chinese people it's on China's language. No bandwidth limitation here. And the information you get and send is totally encrypted.
