<< You can now insert YouTube video clips inside Google Documents much the same way as you embed videos in Google Pages or the new Google Sites.
Just place the cursor anywhere in your Google Document, go to the Insert menu and paste the YouTube URL (watch the screencast). >>

I don't see the new option and there's no reference in Google's help center. |
I'd like to know the URL of his Localizer file as that UI string isn't included here:
http://docs.google.com/Localizer?f=AllMsgs.hdf
(Anyway, wouldn't it have made more sense to include YouTube videos in Presentations rather than Documents?) |
It will most likely be added to presentations (why would you want a video in a Doc), I've just Viewed the source of one of my presentations and found:
var M_ACTION_INSERT_VIDEO="Insert video"; var M_ACTION_INSERT_VIDEO_HINT="Click to insert a video into the slide"; var M_ACTION_INSERT_VIDEO_SPRITE_CLASSES="editor-icon-sprite add-video-icon"; var M_ACTION_INSERT_VIDEO_FLAG="videos";
I can't see it in the Localizer file either. Also, the Picture icon appears twice in http://docs.google.com/images/toolbar3.png – the last one could possibly be be replaced by a video icon when the feature is rolled out. |
Don't think so, except if you mean "insert RickRolling video" ;-) It is a long expected feature (at least in Presentation) and the code is actually ready. |
It's an April Fools hoax. You can see that the "insert image" dialog was edited. |
An April Fool with a post date that's not 1st April? What sort of low life would do that? ;-) |
If that's an allusion, you should know that I posted my little joke at 12:19 am EET (my local time), but I use the PDT time zone to display the date. |
