[Unable to login to gmail but others pages work fine]

I am currently in Kenya and unable to login to gmail. or even load the login page Other sites seem to work fine. Also, tried on another person's computer in the office where I am and had the same problem. In Firefox, I get a "the connection was interrupted" error.

I also emptied cache and cookies in both Firefox and IE, and I stilll can't get to the login screen.

What gives?
