Google Reader Count Issues?

Has anyone else noticed that Google Reader's unread post counts aren't synced between the menu and the main frame today? I'm seeing 28 unread items between my subscriptions and yet it still says "Your reading list has no unread items." (even though it says "28 new items" just above it). Quite annoying really.

I've seen this bug frequently in the past 2 months.

Me too but it's never been this bad. The number of unread items keeps increasing but I'm still not able to read any of them.

Yep, Ionut is right, but I agree with Tony: this night I have 28 unreaded messages... which don't exist.

17 here.

I've only had 1 or 2 not existent items before (very rarely)

The problem is gone now. At least until tomorrow.

seems that mobile version is affected as well: no items displayed, but when clicking on tags I have two tags bolded (items), but when clicking on them -> nothing.

annoying

I still have 1 "phantom" post in reader (down from 17)
It's been there all morning so it hasn't just appeared there now

Reader is working fine again.

This has been happening for quite a while now in Reader, most likely a caching issue and given that I usually have the sidebar closed, it doesn't really bother me.
