WOW I just found this information last week. Nobody is telling us about it because they don't want us to know. Just a few high end bloggers have published this but it has been public for the last year.

and on Squidoo

Everyone should know this if you have any type of blog.

That's rather old information (March 2007), it's only related to a blog search engine (like Google Blog Search) and it's from a patent (http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PG01&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=%2220070061297%22.PGNR.&OS=DN/20070061297&RS=DN/20070061297), so Google Blog Search might not work like that.

Ionut is right, and two important points are missing in the patent: language and date of the articles. Even if you don't click on "sort by date" link, results are already sorted by relevance AND date. |
True it is old info but how many of us have heard about it?
Almost no one knew this even existed.
Do you have a link to the latest patent? If you do post it here or email me from my site keywebdata.com
And it is very relevant because it is still true from all the testing I have done in the last week.
And it does not just apply to Google blog search, it applies to Google because they segregate blogs from organic (web) listings.
I am nowhere to be found for in many SERPs but #1 in blog search.
If you can point me to any newer resources on this please do.
Most of my resources come from seomoz.org and Andy Beard and these guys are blog gods.
Any feedback here or on my blog would be welcome.

>> Almost no one knew this even existed. << More than you think, unless you are talking about the people who are not in this field (e.g. truck drivers).
