This has been available on Google.com in the US for almost 3 years. I guess its slowly getting added to some of the other localized versions of Google.
Australia just got this feature in Feb. 2008: http://google-au.blogspot.com/2008/02/make-tonight-movie-night.html |
Colin is right, it seems to work only for the US, Australia and India. |
It works in Canada. Though it asks for a U.S. zip code or city, I was able to enter my Canadian postal code and get results. And I have been able to so for a while. |
It works for UK cities too. Or at least it does for Sheffield, UK:

It seems to use the same backend for all countries. Although if you visit the localized domains, you get different labels for the text box:
US: US city or zip http://www.google.com/movies
Canada: City or postal code http://www.google.ca/movies
Australia: Postcode or suburb http://www.google.com.au/movies
India: City http://www.google.in/movies
UK: Town or post code http://www.google.co.uk/movies |
Thank you Bill and Tony, I wasn't aware for these 2 countries. BTW: this [movies] operator has been completely translated in French since years, but still not available in France ;) [but for French Canadian it might be useful] |

I always use this before going to the theaters. |
