Snippet:

<<As we were experimenting with Google Reader using AxsJAX, one of the enhancements we prototyped was the addition of a simple CSS-based lens that allows the user to selectively magnify the current article. Notice that this is subtly different from using a generic screen magnifier – in that later case, you end up magnifying the entire screen. Google Reader can be smarter; since it knows which article you are currently reading, it can selectively magnify just that article upon request. This results in much better use of screen real-estate – something that is an even scarcer resource when you're a low-vision user.>>

It is not working for me on Firefox 3 Beta5. Could also be, because of my laptop keyboard.

They have put online "AxsJAX" on Google Source.

The famous xkcd.com is used as example ;)
But you need GreaseMonkey, I hate it.

BTW, on a somewhat related note, page 189 of Google Apps Hacks says:

<< [Y]ou may start to prefer reading everything from Google Reader: there may now be fewer ads, less navigation, less clutter, but instead, faster loading times. Also, every blog will appear in the same font and font size. >>

That's not strictly true. You've always been able to make different fonts, font sizes and font colours appear in Google Reader.

I see... are there actually any blogs out there who push a feed which shows a font other than the normal for the whole feed though (not just the occasional footnote or so)?

Google's Dublin Gym blog seems to use a different font (and various colours) for each post:
