I'm lost. What is this supposed to be/do?

Joe L. [PersonRank 1]

David –
to fully understand, you must go find an original Nintendo Entertainment System and insert a game by Konami, most notably Contra

Saw this from @mihai on Twitter a couple months ago. Didn't think to tip off Google Blogoscoped...

I love it! Konami codes should work in every program ever built, hands down. I don't care what it does, as long as there is an easter egg.

Tim L. Walker [PersonRank 1]

that's pretty funny...

Hmmm... I wonder how it looks like with the base style; I'm using Jon Hicks OS X-inspired Stylish theme. The Ninja! appeared in the search box, though and I see the ninja background in the sidebar. I'm not sure if I should be seeing anything else.

so where do I type it?

i tried pressing up up down down left right left right b a, and it just pops 'add a subscribtion' dialog.

All you have to do is go to http://reader.google.com – Don't click anything – And type in the code...

anonymous [PersonRank 0]

Just wondering how to do the trick?

anonymous [PersonRank 0]

I believe that works for Digg as well, just go to a Digg story page, and do the same thing.

[Anonymous] [PersonRank 4]

Are the tags in this post a Blogoscoped Easter Egg? (You know, Philipp isn't exactly a tag lover...)

Tony Ruscoe [PersonRank 10]

Milivella, I think it's just to give some context for those who don't understand the reasons behind the easter egg.

UUDDLRLRBA is called 'Konami Command' in Japan.

Mary Specht [PersonRank 0]

Why can't I get this to work? I'm having the same problem as Anon.

Nomad [PersonRank 0]

It took me a while. Make sure you are doing B and then A, and not A and then B. If you hit A first, it brings up the subscriptions box.

FYI, it worked on both Firefox (Camino) and Safari on MacOS X.

That was sweet! I work at a college and would love to add some Easter Eggs like this but don't know where to get the code... Is there a specific place I should look first?

CVOS [PersonRank 1]

so you get a ninja theme. I'd like to see an easter egg on the iPhone.

although it's not as cool as the g-reader ninja egg, there's a Contra code easter egg for Yahoo! Answers as well---circa 2006.

if you put this in address bar

javascript:vX=[38];void(0)

Ninja can turn on / off by UP key alone

cheers,
Mark
