Going here, I see my name and the photo of myself I use in Gmail, along with a link to edit my profile:
http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/
(link doesn't work without the trailing slash)
Is this part of an existing service, or is it something new with profiles? |
By the way, it showed me that since I was logged into my Google account. I assume it'd be blank or an error if you're not logged in (too lazy to check) |
That showed blank for me even though I was logged in. I had to go here to see mine: http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/me |
OLD Disallow: /translate_c? Disallow: /s2 Disallow: /transconsole/portal/
NEW Disallow: /translate_c? Disallow: /s2/profiles/me Allow: /s2/profiles Disallow: /s2 Disallow: /transconsole/portal/
Still cached...
Here is what is new though: Disallow: /ime/ |
<< Here is what is new though: Disallow: /ime/ >>
Do you think that is referring to Google Pinyin IME for China?

Tony: You're right, I forgot from the blank profile I clicked on the "My Profile" link on top, which leads where you linked. Still not sure what this is all about though. |
I think they're just "prettifying" the URLs used by profiles since they're slowly integrating them with more services, like Google Docs. |
FYI – the first link Niraj pointed to is dead now:
http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/
It seems this is a new service though:
https://www.google.com/accounts/Login?service=profiles
Trying to login to http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/me constantly redirects me though. |
Tony, I can login to http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/me.
Is this similar to what you are seeing?
http://kirb.com/images/profile.png |
google.com/s2/profiles/me gives me my 'Google Profile'
I can edit this – Full name, display name, about me, profile links, picture etc.
Is this what everyone else is seeing? |
I can see the same as Kirby Witmer, but with my profile picture |
I can see a similar thing to Kirby's screenshot here:
http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/116226932711437764309
But I can see the URL in Kirby's screenshot includes the ID (like it's getting redirected). Previously, I also got redirected but since adding the service, I get caught in a vicious circle when visiting this URL:
http://www.google.com/s2/profiles/me
Which just keeps asking me to sign in here:
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=profiles&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fs2%2Fprofiles%2Fme
|
This might not be related, but it seems like it has something to do with profiles as well.
I noticed that if you add the updates.xml widget to your new iGoogle page it tries to show an iframe from the following URL that doesn't work:
http://profiles.corp.google.com/widgets/ActivityStreamViewer?view=home&lang=en&country=us&.lang=en&.country=us&synd=ig&mid=152&ifpctok=4323057904729278311&parent=http://www.google.com&libs=UwG5tlu5Vpo/lib/libcore.js&extern_js=/extern_js/f/CgJlbhICdXMrMAo4ACwrMAs4ACwrMBA4ACwrMBI4ACwrMBM4ACw/y8wJsfPZFxA.js

The new link "Google Profiles" in our Google account, I don't understand what is new. It is still the same data & template used since the lanch of Google Shared Stuff... http://www.google.com/s2/widgets/ProfileViewer?uid=116226932711437764309
So, Brian, if you look the previous URL closer, you will see that it is clearly related. |
corp.google.com is a Google internal URL just FYI.... |
