We (Zorgloob) just received a mail from Google France today with a teaser to an announcement for tomorrow.

The mail also include a picture that made us understand what is coming... It pretty big, related to one of the most popular Google service, and it's a new feature for France (at least).

The bad news is that we can not broadcast the mail... until tomorrow.

Zorgloob readers think that it will be on of them :

- @gmail.fr email service
- Street Views in France
- Improved Contact Manager
- Offline ads in French
- Official Google France blog...

There are already people that have @gmail.fr addresses (http://www.arkadia.com/usa/members/14308/), so that's a good guess for the new offering.

An interesting thing:
www.gmail.fr – redirects to --> google.com
gmail.fr – redirects to --> mail.google.com

A clever way to soft launch a service in a country where we used to be very privacy aware...

They didn't blur the US embassy while people are sometimes barred from taking pictures.

There are lots of missed blurred faces...but, they do a good job on the license plates!

really enjoying this France streetview.

i must admit, i was getting a bit bored of American architecture... this makes a nice change.

And some the landscapes in the Pyrennes and the Alps are absolutely stunning.

Have Google blurred photo ID in this image?

Impressed if they have
