Would Google consider having alternate domains like Yahoo now does?
IE, @googlemail.com (for other countries, like US)

all @gmail.com ID works with @googlemail.com also

No, I mean, offer namegooglemail.com as alternate domain for US users who cannot get a good ID, much like Yahoo did.

I think that's a great idea.
