hi,
just signed up to a gmail account... nice and easy until it comes to importing contacts.
i have a mac (iMac) and run safari, so am using a classic version of hotmail. i try to follow the instructions on the gmail import page – copying contacts to microsoft excel...
problem one: no "print view" – i click print and highlight
then i paste to excel, seems ok apart from everything is in the A column and not stretching across the page. (does this matter?)
i save as the file type indicated (.csv) and try to import the file to gmail. each time i get file type not recognised...
is this a normal occurence? is there a way around it? do i have to import everyone by hand? god i hope not!

Make sure you respect the right column and format:
mail.google.com/support/bin/an ...
