It seems Google News has revamped itself to put a greater focus on news, as well as having quotes and youtube videos embedded on the side:

Actually, only a few people can see this design experiment, and it is being tested worldwide with small numbers.

Odd, when removing .au from the URL provided by Bryce there is no difference. But I'm not surfing from Australian IP...

I can't see it now either.

I have refreshed the screen twice and every story you can see above the fold (about ten stories total) is about murder or death. Terrible!

I can see the new design now as well.
