We have updated the User Interface to be more user friendly. We now have an author toolbox on the right hand side of your knol to help you change the settings for your knol. We also promote the first 3 authors of a knol more prominently.

We have a few changes in this release:
* We are moving from p6058.google.com to knol.google.com. If you have bookmarks that refer to p6058, please update them as p6058 will soon go away permanently.
* To find your knols, click on the "My Knols" link at the very top of the page – that page will show both published and hidden knols. The "Also Wrote" section only shows published knols which any visitor will be able to see.
* If you choose to add ads, they will now be seen by everyone.

We added quite a few features for this release (a.k.a greatdane):
* Abstracts – you can choose to write a short abstract in the abstract field a the top of your knol.
* Add co-authors, and change ownership (i.e. primary author) of your knol
* Rate and review knols from other authors
* Import files from various formats into knol
* Various UI refinements
* Subscript and superscript for your text
* Ads: you can now choose to include ads on your knol using Adsense
Urls (the web addresses of your knols) have changed in several respects:
1. They now include the author name and the knol title. Here is an example:

2. They now include k as a prefix instead of k1. Don't ask why.

What does this mean to you?
Any bookmarks you had to old urls will be broken, and can be fixed by adding "-/-/" in place of the author and title (e.g.: http://p6058.google.com/k/-/-/3695bxw3f9mgj/2) . You can also simply create new bookmarks and delete the old ones. Sorry for the hassle!
We will be repairing all the internal links within Knol to use the new urls. During this process, images may appear to be missing for a few hours. Do not worry, your images are safe and will reappear at the end of the procedure.

The toolbar has been changed and the style of the author information has been tweaked. Also plenty of bug fixes.

Knol will be using your Full Name instead of your Nickname. If your Full Name is not what you would like it to be, please update your settings.
We added: revision comparisons and references.

We've added a table of contents and per-article ratings. Knols will look better when printed. The interface to change your default settings can now be found at the top of the page under the Settings link.
The Search Box
Did you notice the search box? You can now search for other early tester's knols, so you can link to ones that are relevant to your knol if you wish to do so.
Please note: This search function is for convenience only! and is designed to return as many knols as possible. The ranking of the knols in these search results includes no relevance information whatsoever. The position of your knol is no indication of quality or relevance. The "real" search will be different...

You can change the way your name appears in Knol by clicking on [Edit my profile] just below your picture. This will also allow you to upload or change your author picture. You can find a tutorial on how to do it here: http://p6058.google.com/k1/HcrXySpX/qJmxZA
Please use Firefox as your web browser while working on your knol. If you don't have Firefox, you can get it safely here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ . Using another browser will generate frustrating errors
