Google Maps has a new UI that seems to have gone live in the last half hour.

Yeah, I just noticed it about 10 mins ago as well. It looks cleaner now without the orange tab options at the top. The direction input boxes have moved from the split view boxes at the top to the left pane view. Now, they just need to add a "Roundtrip" option to the directions. I know most of the time its just the reverse of a trip, but certainly not always (one way streets, etc) and it would be nice to see the total miles and time for it.

Also, the arrow to hide the left pane is now in the blue header section above the map instead of in the middle of the separator itself.

The blue header is excactly the same color as the header in the search results. It looks better this way i think.

Needs two more features

1) give a way to collapse the upper pane, so nearly the full browser is covered with the map. Sometimes I just want to explore as big of a map as possible, and don't need links or search bars cluttering the page

2) a way to Clear results!! Often I use a "seed search" to get to the general area I want to go – like I'll put in the name of a city to get to the city, then manually zoom/pan from there. But there is no way to remove the pushpins of the original search from the map (unless I do another search), or to clear the search bar, which is useful if I want to use the "link to this page" feature.

For full screen Google Maps view I always head to wikimapia.org, which has an added bonus of community added placemarks.

The full screen option has existed for a long time now. It's just now more noticeable on how to access it.

The 1st day this was announced, I had the new UI.

Since then, every time I go to Maps, I am still getting the old UI.

Anyone else still seeing the old one now?

Now all they need to do is find a way to cut down on the number of buttons. It's starting to get out of hand...
