i might have missed the announcement, for forgive me if this is old news – but i couldnt help noticing that streetview now has a heck of a lot of northern california , whereas the last time i checked it was mostly silicon valley and L.A.
zoom down to san francisco and note the extra streetview coverage north of it.
there are some other areas in the U.S. that i dont remember being there before – the area around oklahoma city, for example, seems to be expanded.
again, if this is old news and i'm wrong, then apologies. |

There does appear to be more Street View camera icons on the US map. Plus there also appears to be blue areas highlighted to show what can be explored with the Street View feature. |
west of chicago there's a blue blob *without* a camera icon – omaha city & lincoln...
south of detroit, there's another blob – around the city of toledo
and it you go east again, the city of rochester, again without a camera icon.
also , this is new – note how you can now "drive" all the way from new york city to boston. note the coastal road here: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=41.173486,-73.270569&spn=0.459994,1.19751&z=10&layer=c
