I used to play this online game and they introduced a swear filter. It didn't replace words, it just wouldn't let you say them.

Along with literally thousands of legitimate words being banned, they've also added some that make no sense whatsoever. For example, you can't say "pigs" or "c8".

Actually, c8 is a roundabout way of expressing the Korean expletive 'siphal' / 'sipal', which translates to 'fucking' in English. Eight in Korean is 'pal', so c8 = 'ci-pal'. Looks like the online game has quite a few Korean members playing.
