Ionut found something hinting at a future addition of photo albums to Google Docs: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/08/photo-albums-in-google-docs.html
On another note Ionut mentions the new more direct menu entry for creating a form in Google Docs: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/08/easier-way-to-create-forms-in-google.html |
I found another thing: Google to launch an PDF Editor: http://i34.tinypic.com/96m2ie.png |
Regarding the new "Form" creation option, I think it's a bit weird that Google creates a live, published form as soon as you select the option from the dropdown. Here's the one it created for me:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?key=pQGZm2cLv1-ir5wGnLT77fQ
Hitting the "Submit" button then returns this error:
It looks like the form "" is turned off.
Try contacting the owner of the form if you think this is a mistake.
Why not just publish the form once it's complete? |
First docs then spreadsheets then presentations and now PDF
Is Google thinking something about project management too???
Something like importing MS Project file and manage the project online and sharing it within the team. Its on the top of my WISHLIST :) |
Rohit, but tbut docs center can be used for PM templates.. I at times docs myself for mini projects and collobrative efforts. As for translate app, I saw the route a file that will be powerful in doc center and projects. I thought that jotspot PM center would have somehow found its way into doc center, but me bad.. my expecation levels are very high :(- |
I'm looking for a full fledge MS Project server kind of application |
Before that, I'm waiting for a comprehensive collaboration platform (just remember that it is the only serious competitive advantage of Google Docs with the cloud). I want to access my maps from the docs list. Then, I want more collaborative tool (for videos, photos...). And then, managerial stuffs (plus things like mindmapping...). |
Rohit, you may want to check this list out (until Goog's hears our request :)!

I'm this going to be more duplication of products? Trends -> Insights, Pages -> Sites, Picasa -> Google Docs? |

<<FEATURES
Create a "New Form" from your Docs List – This will let you immediately create a form which will populate a spreadsheet when the form is filled out by others. The spreadsheet is created for you in the background and will show up in your Docs List with a special Forms icon. Details at http://documents.google.com/support/spreadsheets/bin/answer.py?hl=en&...
Find and replace – Finally, a quick and easy way to replace certain words/numbers in entire spreadsheet – in one click! Use CTRL-F (or Command-F on Mac). To get to the browser's own Find feature, hit Ctrl- F (or Command-F) a second time. Details at http://documents.google.com/support/spreadsheets/bin/answer.py?answer...
SPLIT formula – An easy way to break up the contents of one cell into many individual cells. Check out examples at http://documents.google.com/support/spreadsheets/bin/answer.py?answer...
Cross-workbook references – You can now more easily pull data from one spreadsheet into another using the ImportRange() function. Details and examples at http://documents.google.com/support/spreadsheets/bin/answer.py?answer...
We've also changed the way we check size limits, allowing for larger spreadsheets that we can handle: Rows – No explicit limit (but see the cell limits below) Total cells – doubled from 100,000 to 200,000 Sheets – more than doubled, from 40 to 100 Cells with formulas – more than doubled, from 20,000 to 50,000 For detailed info, check out http://documents.google.com/support/spreadsheets/bin/answer.py?answer... >>

I think the ImportRange is amazingly useful.
Tab is very handy but importrange is even more cool as it syncronize everytime you reload the spreadsheet. We can now link all our spreadsheet and finally find a way to share only some data of a spreadsheet.
This is very very cool and this is one more killer feature against MS Office, IMHO |
Hm, the only thing that doesn't make sense to me about moving picasa web albums to google docs is that i read somewhere that there were a lot of new picasa features in the works like creative commons licensing that were discovered. Anybody have a link to that? I suppose if this Photos feature in Google Docs could have all the functionality of picasa web albums and they were able to successfully migrate all of the existing stuff then it wouldn't be a problem. Also, this would bring a lot more people to use Google Docs.
Next up, Google Video/YouTube integration? |
