I can easily read the number plate of one of the vehicles on the car ferry (WHE-211), so I don't think Google's license-plate blurring algorithm is working too well.

In the cases where it is working, does Google keep the unmarked imagery? I mean, that would be enough for the government if they'd want to "poll" for that data for this or that reason, right?
