since a Google StreetView car "caught" me a couple days ago driving through the streets of Cologne, I got the chance today to take some pictures of a parked Google Streetview Car. (It was actually another one, since the one that caught me, had "StreetView" stickers on the side of the car, so there are are at least two of them driving through Cologne)

The header line on that paper says, in German:

Discovered the same car again on the road while driving to work (dinosaurs + same car sign) and this time it had the "Streetview-Stickers" on the side of the car. So I guess they are applying and removing the stickers each and every time to prevent vandalism ?!? |
Maybe the car owner decided to put up some new stickers.. :P

I had a phone call with a Googler today about Street view. he told me why there are dinos, animals or balls on the doors: Many people of Germany thought the black cars are from military police or secret service. That is why Google decided to make the monopod of the camera a bit more colorful and to put funny things on the doors.
The Google Maps Logo is a magnet and will be removed when a car is parked.
