Was just on Google doing advanced search and noticed that the two moths, 3 months, 6 months options are gone. Now, only last month then straight to last year. Just a glitch, or is this a new thing?

It seems to be new. The data restriction is actually not limited to the options provided by Google, you can restrict the results to the last 10 days, 2 weeks, 8 months or 3 years.
