Bizarrely, typing 'eight days a week' into Google brings up the calculator and returns the result 1.142 which is 8/7. I saw this on SEOmoz along with 9 other weird Google results.
Apparently ten, four and eight one works too.

It translates to : [convert] eight days [into] a week or How many weeks is eight days?
Odd, but not that surprising :) |
Or you can think of "eight days a week" as meaning "eight days per week", i.e. (8 days / 7 days) or 1.142... |
yea, i noticed this some week ago with [two days a week], a festival here in austria... |
Must be some sort of colloquialism somewhere that "x a y" is equivalent to "x in y".
For example you can do a query on four feet a yard (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=four+feet+a+yard&btnG=Search) and get "1.333..." The only way it differs from the query four feet in yard (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=four+feet+in+yard&btnG=Search) is that the no units appear in the answer. |
This really isn't that bad. It's thinks you're trying to figure out how many weeks that is.. it's 1.14 weeks.
