I was searching Google News Archive today and did a search for 'TechCrunch' and surprisingly found an article about TechCrunch dating from 125 AD (according to Google).
It seems that Google are dating articles just by reading the content which seems an extremely bad plan to me. The author of this particular article just happened to be talking about a 125 x125 ad and mentioned TechCrunch. Unfortunate, but a terrible way to decide the date of an article!
I've got some more examples here http://bloggle.org.uk/2008/09/15/according-to-google-techcrunch-predates-attila-the-hun/ |
If you think that's impressive, see how much Google was talked about between 0AD and 200AD :P http://news.google.com/archivesearch?as_user_ldate=0AD&as_user_hdate=200&q=Google&scoring=t&q=Google&lnav=od&btnG=Go |
