Hotlinked Image Prank  (View post)

What's the legal situation with hotlinking images? It is done with some of my image files as well. Not a lot of traffic, so I don't really care. Strictly speaking, I voluntarily offer those files on my web server and people just link to them. On the other hand, not in the spirit of my site, having my images used elsewhere. Any known verdicts?

Nice trick and a very good lesson too ;-)

TF, independent of the legal situation, you can configure a server so that it will block hotlinking...

I used to get hotlinks to my images from myspace all the time. I singled out their domain to get an image that says "I am a bandwidth thief"...
