(Edit: Changed from "Google Homepage: Firefox Is Safest Browser" to "Google Firefox Homepage: Firefox Is Safest Browser" to make it more clear.) |
Really not strange at all, since Mozilla writes those snippets: http://livetolaugh85.blogspot.com/2008/09/snipsnipsnippets.html |
That page is only hosted by Google, but it doesn't contain Google's opinions. Here's another message:
"Do you love Firefox? We count on people like you to spread the word. Find out how you can help!"
|
I really don't see the big deal. Google and Mozilla has been co-operating for ages and they're not going to suddenly start favouring Chrome over Firefox just because Google made it.
Google and Mozilla are still good friends and I doubt that's going to change in the future. It'd be stranger if they put a link to Google Chrome, a browser that (even though being heavily updated and improved which) isn't even out of BETA.
I'm not going to argue about how good Chrome is. My point is just that Google aren't going to remove all traces of Firefox just because Chrome exists. After all – that's not what Google wants with Chrome. |
(I added an update, thanks!) |
Also, Chrome is not in full release yet, just Beta.. so to this date, Firefox __IS__ the safest browser.. |
I tried a search on "browser" in Google today. The first result here too is Firefox. Whats more, its surprising to see that the first page doesn't have a single result referring to Chrome!
What could this mean, I wonder? :) |
Try download google toolbar under Chrome and y'll be redirected to FF3 Google toolbar download and it will ask you to upgrade your browser to FF3. |
This includes OT:) but it's time to update this very fast browser to its security update version 3.0.2
*5 vulnerabilities fixed http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox30.html#firefox3.0.2 http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
and 2.0.0.17 * 9 vulnerabilities fixed http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox20.html#firefox2.0.0.17 http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
The internal Auto Update feature has been activated too. |
As many pointed out, Chrome is Google's Web OS just happened looking like a browser. So, at the end, even Chrome grow mature, Firefox will still be the safest BROWSER, while Chrome will be the safest Web OS. |
